    A MINIATURIZED OPEN RING SLOTTED MICROSTRIP PATCH ANTENNA FOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

    In this paper design and analysis of circular disk microstrip patch antenna with slots and some terms related to design aspects and detail study of proposed antenna is presented. Here an open ring slot is introduced in circular patch which provides dual frequency response with good return loss and wide bandwidth. The antenna was analyzed using finite element method (FEM) based high frequency structure simulator (HFSSâ„¢ V13.0.2- EM simulator software). The antenna was designed to operate in C band with dual frequency response. Return loss (S11), voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), radiation patterns (both E-plane and H-plane) graphs are presented here for simulated antenna. Results of proposed antenna structure shows good return loss, VSWR (<2) and gain. The antenna proposed in this article is suitable for wireless communication applications such as satellite communication and synthetic aperture radar (SAR).
