    GESTURE CONTROLLED WHEELCHAIR USING ARDUINO

    Today, physically disabled people have many options to make movements and to do certain tasks. In this paper, we have prepared a model of wheelchair that may help manufacturers to build Arduino based wheelchair structure that can be controlled by hand movement. Wheelchair control which is useful by hand movement or hand gesture recognition using acceleration technology. Many developments have been made in the field of wheelchair technology. It is wheelchair which can be controlled by simple hand gestures. It employs a sensor which controls the wheelchair hand gestures made by the user and interprets the motion intended by user and moves accordingly. Accelerometer sensors are used to change the direction, the sensor registers values are changed and that values are given to microcontroller. Depending on the direction of the acceleration, microcontroller controls the wheelchair directions. The objective behind this paper is to implement wheel chair direction control with hand gesture recognition.
