Malesh Prajapati*, Suraj Gupta, Vaishnavi Deshmukh, Jeevan Dhumal, Rekha Bhalerao

Cancer is a group of disease that involves abnormal cell growth with potential to invade the other part of body. Patient suffering from cancer have significantly lower intake of dietary vitamin-k. According to recent studies, the supplementation of vitamin-k with anti-cancer drug would improve or prevent the cancer. Vitamin-k halts the reproductive cell cycle and induces apoptosis and activate ‘suicide protein’. Vitamin-k also triggers a DNA-degrading protein that cancer cell normally suppress and prevent tumor cell from repairing themselves effectively. The present work is aimed to summarize the remarkable findings on vitamin-k, its rapid emerging anti-cancer profile and mechanism by which vitamin-k exerts its potent effect.
