REVIEW ON SYNCHRONIZATION ISSUES IN COGNITIVE RADIO
Uday V Wali*, Sandeep S Bidwai

Cognitive Radio (CR) for dynamic spectrum access enables opportunistic use of the radio-frequency (RF) spectrum, allowing unlicensed users to utilize licensed bands under the condition that they interfere as little as possible with the licensees. In this paper a survey on performance of cognitive radio is made. The performance parameters includes synchronization issues like frequency & timing error, phase noise, IQ-imbalance and hidden terminal problem. These errors occures due to either non-ideal analog components, movement of the transceiver or imperfect synchronization. Methods to overcome these problems are discussed.
