    P Rama Nisha*, S Arularasan, P Govindharajan

The present investigation carries a first report of goose barnacles from Tranquebar coastal water, Tamil Nadu. Availability of barnacles was maximum than mussels and Oyster. Lepas anserifera was the prevalent macro fouler encountered in our coastal area. The rapid growth of macro fouling community has providing an alarming signal of its capacity to cause potential biodiversity losses and ecosystem damages in the coastal area. Hence, an urgent attention must be taken to control the macro fouling community in the coastal area.
