THE PROMISING TECHNIQUE IN TIME DEPENDENT DRUG RELEASE SYSTEM: CHRONOTHERAPEUTICS
Suchi Thakur*, Monika Mathur, R B Goswami, Surendra Jain

The reason of writing this review on chronotherapeutic drug delivery systems is to emphasize the literatures with special focus on chontherapeutics and the various dosage forms, techniques that are used to intentionally focus on the circadian rhythms of various diseases. Current research in the field of drug delivery devices, by which pulsatile release is achieved, has been made stronger mark in pharmaceutical companies and research world. In this article, an attempt has been made to discuss different types of drug delivery systems that illustrate pulsatile drug delivery characteristics which leads to create the lag time in particular release of drugs. It was observed, frequently in the living body, many very important functions are synchronized by pulsed or transient release of bio-active substances at a precise site and time. Such studies are covered by latest 21 technologies of chronotherapeutics of tablet in capsule device, Core-in-cup tablet technology etc. A coated drug-core tablet matrix, A bi-layered tablet, Multiparticulate-based chronotherapeutic drug delivery systems, Chronoset and Controlled release microchips.
