    KINETICS OF CHROMIUM CATALYZED OXIDATION OF L-LYCINE BY DIFFERENT SALTS IN ACETIC AQUEOUS MEDIUM

    The kinetics of the oxidation of L-lysine by Cr has been studied in aqueous acetic acid in the presence of salts. To calculate thermodynamic parameters, the reactions have been studied at different concentration. A complex mechanism involving the complex formation between catalyst and the substrate has been proposed. A Kinetic investigation of oxidation of amino acids by Cr has been carried out spectrophotometrically. The Mn(II) and Sodium ion taken for experiment in different concentrations in the form of MnSO4 and NaCl salt. The reaction is reported as linear double stage process, first stage is followed by second fast stage.
