    A user interface messaging system and method that allows a user to defer resolution of the substance of a message, such as a user-initiated error, and adds the message to a queue. The messaging system may remind the user to resolve the substance of the messages in the queue. After a message has been added to the queue, the message layer may be closed, allowing the user to continue using the application.

  • Software management systems and methods, including use of such systems and methods in a provider-tenant environment

    Exemplary methods and systems may associate data structures specific to a first tenant with a first tenant template, determine whether new data structures are specific to the first tenant, and if so, associate the new data structures with a second tenant template. By doing so, methods and systems may determine a difference between the first and second tenant templates, making it possible to upgrade a tenant based on the difference. With this capability a provider-tenant system may upgrade applications and data.

    A method of reverse logistics using an auction to sell products directly to consumers from a store instead of using a third party reclamation company. One or more methods of auctioning one or more typically unsalable items directly to purchasers from a retail store including the steps of providing a communications multi-network having at least one logic engine, at least one star communication network through which non-location data is transferred to said logic engine, and at least one mesh communication network through which location data is transferred to said logic engine. The method further includes the steps of locating products for purchase that are eligible to be auctioned, the scanning of product codes of each auctionable product, tracking the scanning device in the store, transmitting auctionable product data through the star communication network, sorting auctionable products into at least one bundled lot for sale, producing a unique identifier for each bundled lot, initiating a direct-to-consumer auction for the sale of each bundled lot, and auctioning each bundled lot to a best bidder in the auction.

    A consumable component sorting system which make it possible to prolong the service life of a consumable component and reduce cost burdened on a user. An image forming apparatus collects information on its own operational environment or operational condition. A data server estimates a change in characteristics of the consumable component used in the image forming apparatus based on the information on the operational environment or the operational condition of the same collected thereby. A component managing server sorts out a consumable component suited to the operational environment or the operational condition of the image forming apparatus, based on the result of the estimation of the data server.

    A method for transporting inventory items includes moving a mobile drive unit to a first point within a workspace. The first point is a location of an inventory holder. The method further includes docking the mobile drive unit with the inventory holder and moving the mobile drive unit and the inventory holder to a second point within the workspace. The second point is associated with conveyance equipment. The method further includes moving the inventory holder to a third point within the workspace using the conveyance equipment.

  • Small gamma shielded shorted patch RFID tag

    An RFID tag includes a substrate made of a material with a high dielectric constant of greater than approximately 4 and having a first side and a second side. A patch antenna is mounted to the first side of the substrate. A metallic ground plane is mounted to the second side of the substrate, and includes a feed through hole. A metallic backplane is coupled with the ground plane, on a side of the ground plane opposite the substrate. The backplane and/or the ground plane include a recess. An RFID circuit is positioned within the recess. A shorting wall includes a plurality of through holes extending through the substrate and interconnecting the antenna with the ground plane. The plurality of through holes is generally linearly arranged relative to each other along an edge of the ground plane. An electrically conductive via extends through the substrate and the feed through hole of the ground plane. The via has a diameter which is slightly less than the feed through hole. The via interconnects the antenna with the RFID circuit. The via is at a distance from the shorting wall whereby an impedance of the RFID circuit approximately matches an impedance of the antenna.

    A novel and non-obvious method, system and apparatus for tuning order configurator performance by dynamic integration of manufacturing and field feedback information. A method for dynamically tuning order configurator behavior by using product issue data can include collecting product issue data for a manufactured product, the product issue data including performance and attribute information of a part of the manufactured product, analyzing the collected product issue data to identify a problematic part, and, modifying the order configurator using the analyzed product issue data.

  • Large-scale supply chain planning system and method

    A system and method for performing large scale supply chain planning is disclosed, which includes at least one database with a plurality of partitions. A large scale, supply chain planning problem is decomposed into a plurality of independent and isolated sub-problems. The data for each sub-problem is maintained in a separate database partition. The sub-problems are preferably solved by separate planning processes operating in parallel in a distributed database processing environment.

  • Wave antenna wireless communication device and method

    A wireless communication device coupled to a wave antenna that provides greater increased durability and impedance mat- ching. The wave antenna is a conductor that is bent in alternating sections to form peaks and valleys. The wireless communication device is coupled to the wave antenna to provide wireless communication with other communication devices, such as an interrogation reader. The wireless communication device and wave antenna may be placed on objects, goods, or other articles of manufacture that are subject to forces such that the wave antenna may be stretched or compressed during the manufacture and/or use of such object, good or article of manufacture. The wave antenna, because of its bent structure, is capable of stretching and compressing more easily than other structures, reducing the wireless communication device's susceptibility to damage or breaks that might render the wireless communication device coupled to the wave antenna unable to properly communicate information wirelessly.

    A method, system, and interface for managing data in a manufacturing enterprise that provides a visual indication of projected results of currant activities. Method includes collecting multi-dimensional data comprising planned values and dynamically updated actual values, processing the values, projecting future events based on records of present and past events and comparison between the planned values and the processed actual values, and displaying an extrapolated status report indicating discrepancies between the planned values and the actual values. The system includes the interface comprising dynamically updated two-dimensional graphic display, a first dimension attribute corresponding to a preset interval of first dimension value from a present first dimension value onward, an array of second dimension attributes, sets of feature attributes that are associated with the second dimension attributes and presented as data in graphic or alphanumeric forms. The sets are located substantially within boundaries of the second dimension attributes.

    An agricultural portal system for use along a transportation route upon which agricultural containers having a responding device are transported, the agricultural portal system including at least one movable support, at least one identification system connected to the movable support and a communications system. The at least one identification system is directed toward the transportation route. The at least one identification system receives a signal from the responding device thereby obtaining information about the agricultural containers. The communications system communicates the information.

  • Teaching game method for simulating management of a business operation

    A game that teaches principles of dynamic business management by advancing tokens (20) along a work flow path (22) on a playing surface (24) to simulate multiple processes of a fictitious business enterprise over time. The work flow path (22) includes at least three distinct and progressive processing areas (30, 32, 34, 36), each representing a different value-added function of the fictitious business. A constraint zone (38) having a specified token (20) capacity is established in each processing area (30, 32, 34, 36), and all tokens (20) must pass through each constraint zone (38) during the play of the game. The token (20) capacity of at least one of the constraint zones (38) may be changed by the players by adding or subtracting work capacity squares (50, 52) during a round to provoke variations in the rate of token (20) advance along the work flow path (22) to thereby simulate a management decision on a dynamic system over time so that its effects can be observed.

    A method for providing real-time visibility on a construction project includes steps of: attaching a low-frequency, ultra low-power, two-way transceiver radio tag to each construction material to be used in the construction project; storing data relating to the construction material in the tag; and reading the data from the transceiver of the tag by interrogating the radio tag with radio frequency interrogation signals.

    A system and method for replenishing low inventory. A first terminal is associated with a user's site for entering and displaying information. A second terminal associated with a supplier's site for entering and displaying information. A network is connected to said first terminal and said second terminal for exchanging information between said first terminal and said second terminal. A replenishment module executing computer readable instructions stored in memory continuously displays a signal having a first visual characteristic simultaneously to both terminals in response to the user requesting a replenishment of inventory, and subsequently modifies the signal simultaneously to both terminals to continuously display a second visual characteristic different than the first visual characteristic responsive to the supplier sending the requested replenishment of inventory and during the time that the requested replenishment of inventory is in transit to the user.

  • Spot market profit optimization system

    A profit optimization system takes account of supply-side and demand-side factors in optimizing profit for an organization. The profit optimization system uses an optimization model to optimize profit in a spot market. The model takes into account which parts the organization uses to assemble various products. Demand curves are used to characterize the quantity of each product that will be demanded as a function of price on the spot market. Supply model data is used to determine which mix of products can be sold in view of parts availability. Using the demand model and supply model data, the optimization model can recommend a set of prices to use for selling the organization's products. The model ensures that the organization has sufficient resources available to produce the products and enforces user-supplied business rules and other constraints.

  • System for collecting, storing, presenting and analyzing immunization data having remote stations in communication with a vaccine and disease database over a network

    A system is provided for collecting and storing immunization and disease data. Immunization mobile stations (IMSs) are provided with a software application to facilitate the collection of patient information such as biographical data, previous vaccination data, medical history, medications in use, occupation, administration of recent vaccination, disease symptoms and the like. IMSs synchronize the patient information with information stored in a database maintained at a data center that is accessible to different groups of personnel based on different privileges defined at the data center and security measures. Patients can access electronic patient records created by the IMSs, and stored at the IMSs and/or a local server and eventually at the data center, via telephone or computer (e.g., via web browser). IMSs can capture and store images of vaccination and disease symptom sites on patients. The database allows for vaccination and disease tracking and disease control. The IMSs can be provided with a vaccination recommendation engine to determine if a patient is eligible for a vaccination and electronic patient consent forms, and are programmable to track adverse events and create follow-up reports after a vaccine is administered.

  • Presentation of sponsored content based on mobile transaction event

    A system and computer-implemented method for positioning targeted sponsored content on a mobile communication facility includes the steps of: (a) receiving data corresponding to transaction events having occurred via the interaction of a user with the mobile communication facility, wherein the transaction events include transmission of data representative of a first set of products or services having been purchased by the user; (b) selecting advertising content based at least upon a relevance between an advertisement for a second product or a second service and the purchased first set of products or services in the transaction events, wherein the relevance is further based on information relating to compatibility of the advertising content, second product, or second service with the mobile communication facility; and (c) presenting the selected advertising content on a display of the mobile communication facility.

    A display element having circuitry adapted to at least partially electrochemically dissolve a first layer by means of supplying an electrical current through the first layer. The first layer separates a first reservoir filled with a liquid from a second reservoir. By dissolving the first layer at least partially, at least a portion of the liquid can flow from the first to the second reservoir. Consequently, the display element transitions from a first to a second optical state.

  • Pharmaceutical product tracking

    A method of tracking a pharmaceutical product, the pharmaceutical product being associated with packaging having disposed thereon or therein coded data including a number of coded data portions, each coded data portion being indicative of an identity of the pharmaceutical product. The method includes having a computer system receiving indicating data from a sensing device, in response to sensing of the coded data. The computer system uses the indicating data to update tracking data at least partially indicative of tracking information.

    A Secure Service Network (SSN) in which at least two participants having a relationship are connected to a physical network by way of Secure Service Gateways and share information defined by one or more Service Definitions allowing for the creation of a secure Virtual Service Connection (VSC) between the participants in which the VSC is specific to the activity being performed and the participants provisioned for that activity. SSN enables the creation of a secure virtual network topology on any network transport that allows participants to exchange documents and transact business over the network real time, where all activity inherits a business and security infrastructure that is independent and in addition to the applications, devices, web services, users using the network.

  • Determining order lead time for a supply chain using a probability distribution of order lead time

    In one embodiment, determining order lead time for a supply chain includes generating probability distribution for expected order lead time options, where each probability distribution for expected order lead time option is associated with a category. A category that corresponds to a supply chain is identified. The supply chain has nodes, including a starting node and an ending node that supplies a customer, and designates a path from the starting node to the ending node. A probability distribution for expected order lead time option associated with the identified category is selected as a probability distribution for expected order lead time for the supply chain. The probability distribution for expected order lead time describes ending node demand for the ending node versus order lead time.

  • Methods and systems for employing dynamic risk-based scheduling to optimize and integrate production with a supply chain

    A production and inventory control for a manufacturing facility is provided that facilitates and coordinates improved planning and execution of such facility in a supply chain with a focus on providing an improved and robust planning, production and inventory control, even in the presence of uncertainty. This may include Optimal Planning that can balance the need for low inventory, low cost (i.e., high utilization of equipment and labor), and efficient on-time delivery. The result of such planning is not a schedule per se but a set of parameters that form a dynamic policy that generates an evolving schedule as conditions (demand, production) materialize. An Optimal Execution applies the dynamic policy resulting in a manufacturing system that is robust enough to accommodate moderate changes in demand and/or capacity without the need to reschedule. Optimal Execution may also involve a "Capacity Trigger" that detects when the assumptions regarding demand and capacity used to determine the dynamic policy are no longer valid. The Capacity Trigger also may provide a Trigger Signal to the planner indicating the need for either more or less capacity.

  • Systems and methods for facilitating delivery of consulting services

The consulting service is preferably subscription based where the delivery of the recommendations are parsed out to the client over the course of months or years so that the client can easily adopt the recommendations one at a time.

The system's interconnectivity allows for the use of an Internet-based paradigm for the purchase and sale among Members of the system of Livestock Informational Objects as commodities, and for reducing the burden costs among Members of compliance with government regulations.

    A method of enabling entry of data into a computer system via a printed substrate. The substrate has a surface containing human-readable information and machine-readable coded data. The coded data is indicative of an identity of the substrate and of a plurality of reference points on the surface. The method includes the steps of: operatively positioning a sensing device relative to the surface and sensing the coded data; generating indicating data using the sensed coded data; and sending the indicating data to a computer system. The coded data comprises an IR-absorbing dye having a nitrogen-substituted phthalocyanine.

  • Method of maintaining product status with invisibly coded interface

    A method of maintaining a status of a product item is provided. The product item includes an associated interface surface which has coded data including a plurality of coded data portions indicative of the product item's identity. The method includes, in a sensing device, sensing at least one coded data portion, generating indicating data indicative of the product item identity therefrom, and transferring the indicating data to a computer system. The computer system is responsive to the indicating data to update product status information stored in a data store. The coded data is substantially invisible to the unaided eye.

Encryption capabilities for the technology are also included. Further, searching capabilities are provided utilizing the network in addition to logging events and passive user profiling. The event logging includes logging network operations. User profile data is automatically received and stored. User profile data includes user identity, state, preferences and interests. User profile data is also automatically exported to an active profile manager which automatically adds additional user profile data. Additional user profile data includes information related to whether the user is a service provider or a manufacturer and the location of user.

    The present invention is a marketing and distribution method for introducing and maintaining refillable containers for personal care products such as cosmetics, creams, lotions, and sprays. A payment obligation for a transaction is issued including a transaction value and details of goods and/or services to be provided by a seller following the transaction. One example of the data accessor is the generic Internet based viewing engine.

    A system and method for delivering content to end users encrypted within a content delivery network (CDN) for content originators is disclosed. CDNs transport content for content originators to end user systems in a largely opaque manner. Caches and origin servers in the CDN are used to store content. Some or all of the content is encrypted within the CDN. When universal resource indicators (URIs) are received from an end user system, the CDN can determine the key used to decrypt the content object within the CDN before delivery. Where there is a cache miss, an origin server can be queried for the content object, which is encrypted in the CDN.

A third sealable opening may be provided in the bag to facilitate circulation within the bag via the second and third openings when the first opening is sealed. Preferably a multilayer construction including a puncture resistant outer layer and a heat-sealable inner layer. The system is useful for emergency calls, tracking, routing, people and animal location including applications for confinement to and exclusion from certain areas.
