    A method and apparatus for dynamic allocation of processing resources and tasks, including multimedia tasks. Tasks are queued, available processing resources are identified, and the available processing resources are allocated among the tasks. The available processing resources are provided with functional programs corresponding to the tasks. The tasks are performed using available processing resources to produce resulting data, and the resulting data is passed to an input/output device.

  • METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SUPPORTING WATERMARK EMBEDDING IN MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM-ON-CHIPS

    A secure server may be utilized to support watermark embedding in multimedia system-on-chips, by generating an encrypted and signed watermarking signal for use in each particular system-on-chip. The encrypted and signed watermarking signal is generated based on a unique per-chip ID associated with the particular system-on-chip. The watermarking signal may be signed by the secure server utilizing a random number generated in and/or provided by the particular system-on-chip. The watermarking signal may be encrypted by the secure server based on a secret encryption key associated with the particular system-on-chip. The secret encryption key may be determined based on the unique per-chip ID associated with the particular system-on-chip. The secure server may store information, received from various system-on-chips, for use during generation of watermarking signals. The information received from each system-on-chip may comprise corresponding unique per-chip ID and/or a random number associated with each particular system-on-chip.

  • Method and system for validating interactive multimedia applications for use in enhanced or interactive television systems

    Disclosed herein are embodiments of a computerized system and method of validating an application contained within a multimedia transport stream. Such embodiments can include the steps of, or structure for, reading data from a multimedia transport stream by a computer, the data representing an application that presents viewable content when executed by a display device and comprises a reference to an identifier of an external resource utilized by the application during execution; and prior to delivery of the multimedia transport stream to a display device, modifying the multimedia transport stream by the computer such that the external resource is not requested by the display device. In some embodiments, the transport stream is modified in response to the computer determining that the external resource is not available.

The cluster node further includes a home subscriber service (HSS) function for storing and providing IMS subscription information to the S-CSCF function. A shared memory is operatively associated with the S-CSCF function and the HSS function. The S-CSCF function obtains IMS subscription information from the HSS function via the shared memory.

The color channel information may be dynamically stored in the multimedia processor. Based on the color channel information, a color channel may be assigned to each color filter position. The color channel assigned to a color filter position may be one of red, green, blue, white, cyan, yellow, and/or magenta. When an indication of the color filter pattern is received, the assignment may be based on both the color channel information and the received indication. Pixel values associated with the color filter pattern may be processed based on the color channel assignment.

  • MOTHER BOARD ADAPTED TO RAPIDLY CHARGE HANDHELD MULTIMEDIA DEVICE

    A mother board adapted to rapidly charge a handheld multimedia device including a controller, a rapid charging initiation unit, a connection port coupled to the handheld multimedia device, and a switching unit. The rapid charging initiation unit provides a first voltage ranging from 3.2 V to 11 V and a second voltage ranging from 2.7 V to 0.6 V. A voltage difference between the first voltage and the second voltage ranges from 0.5 V to 0.8 V. The switching unit is coupled to the controller, the rapid charging initiation unit, and the connection port for determining whether the connection port is coupled to the controller or the rapid charging initiation unit. When the connection port is coupled to the rapid charging initiation unit, the first and the second voltage are sent to the handheld multimedia device through the connection port for activating a rapid charging function.

    Various embodiments for sharing multimedia editing projects are described. One embodiment is a method performed at a server for sharing video editing techniques by a user. The method comprises receiving a project description file at the server, wherein the project description file is generated during editing of multimedia content by a first editing system, the project description file comprising information relating to special effect objects applied to the edited multimedia content by the first editing system. The method further comprises providing all or a portion of a timeline-based template according to the project description file, wherein the timeline-based template comprises a timeline and object type designators corresponding to the special effect objects specified by the first editing system, wherein representations of the object type designators are displayed along the timeline. The method further comprises transmitting the timeline-based template from the server to a second editing system.

    Text content embedded with multimedia content is provided from a content provider to a client device. The multimedia content may be provided to the client device separate from the text content. In particular, multimedia content metadata indicating a storage location of the multimedia content may be provided to the client device after the text content. The client device may request the multimedia content from the content provider based on the multimedia content metadata. The content provider may send the requested multimedia content to the client device after receiving an authenticated version of the multimedia content metadata.

The synchronized interactive multimedia communication is performed along with the presentation of the multimedia content.

    An apparatus for swapping output high-speed multimedia signals.     A system and method is provided for managing and displaying annotations in online hosted videos. To determine related annotations associated with a video, a plurality of annotations for one or more intervals of the video are collected and organized into a plurality of groups. Each group includes annotations for intervals of the video that are similar to each other. A group having related annotations is identified, and an annotated clip of the video is formed based upon the intervals in the group. This process can be used to determine any number of groups in a given video having related annotations, forming the respective annotated intervals within a single video, and can also identify and organize annotated intervals within a large number of different videos.

    Embodiments of the present invention are generally related to a system for creating digital media in social venues and methods thereof. In one embodiment of the present invention, a method of for creating digital media in social venues comprises providing a digital media creation device for creating digital media, the digital media creation device having a base, a camera and an interactive screen; allowing a user to engage the digital media creation device to create the digital media, the digital media comprising multimedia content acquired from the camera and at least one advertisement; and enabling the user to retrieve a copy of the digital media.

  • System and Method for Dynamically Pricing Electronic Advertisements

    User terminals receive multimedia content, such as on-line articles, from a publisher. The user terminals collect statistical data indicating the current popularity of the content with the users, and report the statistical data back to a server associated with the publisher. The server accumulates and periodically analyzes the statistical data and dynamically generates prices for the publisher to charge the advertisers based on this information. Placing advertisements with more popular content, as determined by the statistical data, could cost the advertisers more than placing advertisements with less popular content.

    Human body motion is represented by a skeletal model derived from image data of a user. The model represents joints and bones and has a rigid body portion. The sets of body data are scaled to a predetermined number of sets for a number of periodic units. A body-based coordinate 3-D reference system having a frame of reference defined with respect to a position within the rigid body portion of the skeletal model is generated. The body-based coordinate 3-D reference system is independent of the camera's field of view. The scaled data and representation of relative motion within an orthogonal body-based 3-D reference system decreases the data and simplifies the calculations for determining motion thus enhancing real-time performance for multimedia applications controlled by a user's natural movements.

  • UNIVERSAL PACKET LOSS RECOVERY FOR DELIVERY OF REAL-TIME STREAMING MULTIMEDIA CONTENT OVER PACKET-SWITCHED NETWORKS

    The Universal Packet Loss Recovery System (UPLRS) is capable of recovering end-to-end network packet losses to obtain reliable end-to-end network delivery of multimedia streaming content over IP networks where packet losses appear above the transport layer. The UPLRS incorporates the use of Packet Forward Error Correction Coding (FEC) with packet interleaving processing prior to transport. Packet FEC is an error correction coding method at the packet level to improve link transmission reliability. At the source end of the packet-switching network, the Packet FEC scheme encodes a stream of transport multimedia content packets by including redundant packets in the stream to allow for the recovery of lost packets by the Packet FEC decoder at the user end of the packet-switching network. Since lost packets appear only above the transport layer in the IP network protocol stack, Packet FEC can be viewed as a transport layer or an application layer coding method.

    A method and a system for playing a multimedia file and a computer readable medium using the method are provided. In an embodiment, selected information from a first wireless communication device of a communication group may be associated with a geographic location and stored. A portion of the information may be selectively transmitted to a second wireless communication device of the communication group when the second wireless communication device is determined to be proximate to the geographic location associated with the information. In one embodiment, the second wireless communication device may receive the information automatically based on trigger settings.

The first input action is analyzed to play the selected multimedia file directly by the digital media renderer that is already connected with the digital media server storing the selected multimedia file, or by another digital media renderer, according to different first input actions.

    Aspects of a method and system for timely delivery of multimedia content via a femtocell are provided. In this regard, a femtocell may receive data via an upstream path and transmit data via a downstream path. One of the upstream path and downstream path may comprise a cellular path and the other may comprise a non-cellular path. One or both of the upstream path and the downstream path may be audio video bridging (AVB) paths. Data may be stored in the femtocell based on timing characteristics of one or both of the upstream path and the downstream path. Data may be delivered to the femtocell utilizing best effort delivery and the data may be forwarded by the femtocell with guaranteed quality of service. Resources in the femtocell may be reserved and/or synchronized, utilizing AVB protocols, for communication of one or more data streams.

An editing engine implementing the method is associated with a network entity to which multimedia containers are directed. The editing engine accesses a receiver database storing information on several types of receivers and a repository of notification templates encoded in several forms.

This improves the efficiency of power usage, overall cell throughput and service quality.
