    Evaluating fraud risk in a transaction between consumer and a merchant over a network is disclosed. The merchant requests service over the network using a secure, open messaging protocol. An e-commerce transaction or electronic purchase order is received from the merchant, the level of risk associated with each order is measured, and a risk score is returned to the merchant. In one embodiment, data validation, highly predictive artificial intelligence pattern matching, network data aggregation and negative file checks are used to examine numerous factors to calculate fraud risk. A risk score is generated and compared to the merchant's specified risk threshold. The result is returned to the merchant for order disposition.

    A method for providing recommendations to a user based on user activity. A plurality of activity data tracking a plurality of activities of a user is obtained. The activity data may be obtained over a wide area network such as the internet or downloaded from a data card which stores activity data whenever the user participates in an activity. The activity data is either stored on the data card or transmitted over the network whenever the user uses a card when participating in any activity such as when making a purchase of goods, paying for services, watching television, etc. The activity data is processed to identify a plurality of user patterns. The user patterns are used to form a user profile and may include user habit data. Recommendations specific to the user based on the user patterns are then created for and provided to the user. The recommendations are provided to a user when the user logs onto a computer network such as the internet. The recommendations may also be provided by electronic mail, electronic pager or other methods. The recommendations are provided by various data analysis techniques including rule based inference engines and other forms of artificial intelligence.

In one technique, a behavioral profile may be generated based on requests for security operations to be performed that are received at a security server from an entity in a network. The behavioral profile may be generated using learning techniques, including artificial intelligence techniques such as neural networks. When the security server receives from an entity one or more requests for security operations to be performed, the security server may compare properties of the requests to the behavioral profile for the entity and properties of requests commonly sent by the entity. The security server may determine a similarity score indicating how similar the request are to the behavioral profile and to requests commonly received from the entity.

    A social media platform is provided for sharing entertainment in an environment that simulates a live experience. The virtual social venue comprises a virtual three-dimensional representation of a gathering place (such as a theater, stadium, or arena) for presenting entertainment. The audience includes live avatars, ghost avatars, and/or programmed avatars. Live avatars represent users who control their avatars' expressions in real time. Ghost avatars represent past users who previously controlled their avatars' expressions in response to the same entertainment and whose expressions were recorded in time association with the entertainment. Programmed avatars are directed by artificial intelligence in a manner that is responsive both to the entertainment presented and the expressions of the live avatars.

  • Object Memory Management System

    An object memory management system (OMMS) provides a communications link between a plurality of various types of inputs and a plurality of customers who would normally receive one or more of the various types of inputs. Included among the input signal devices are GPS, infrared (IR), photo cell, range finder, and other type sensors, and signal sources such as data bit stream, pulsed digital signals, verbal and visual signals. Included among the customers are artificial intelligence (AI) and software service providers. The system recognizes a received incoming signal, converts it into a signal the designated customer can recognize and sends it to the designated customer. Signals are processed on a first-in-first-out (FIFO) basis unless a priority designation is received. Complex incoming signals (verbal and visual) require pattern recognition wherein an object database is utilized to understand such incoming signals.

  • Spa control with improved heater management system

    A spa control system that measures the flow of water through the heater of a spa and accurately reports water temperature in the spa using only one solid-state sensor in the heater. The working condition of the sensor is first determined by energizing the spa heater for a brief period of time, with the circulation pump de-energized, then quickly de-energizing the heater and watching for a heat rise at the sensor. A small rise is sufficient to proceed with the flow test. The flow rate is now determined by energizing the pump, with the heater still de-energized, and observing the rate at which the moving water cools the inside of the heater. If there is no circulation of water through the heater, the temperature of the sensor will continue to rise from the energy applied when the heater was briefly energized. This rise will be quite significant and a clear indication of a flow problem. Conversely, with normal flow, the inside of the heater will be cooled to approximately the same temperature as the spa water in just a few seconds. If the flow is found to be adequate, the heater may be energized for a normal period of time. Since, while cooling, a measured number of degrees is dropped in a measured number of seconds, a flow rate can be reported to the user as an estimate of gallons per minute. The sensor is now carefully monitored for a sudden increase in temperature, which would indicate loss of a normal flow of water. It is known that the temperature of the water in the spa will be within one or two degrees of the observed temperature at the sensor in the heater, even when the heater is energized. The water temperature can, therefore, be accurately reported to the user just from measuring the temperature of the water in the heater. The only problem with making all measurements at the heater is that the real water temperature is unknown when the pump is not running. This problem can result in short heating cycles, or create the need to run the pump several times per day just to check on the real water temperature. The present invention uses artificial intelligence to find the proper time to turn the pump back on at a time when the spa is just beginning to need heat. Any errors in finding this time are added back to subsequent calculations to make future cycles more accurate.

If a user makes a selection from one of the first and second menus, the GUI renders displays in the third and fourth fields in accordance with the selection.

Each definition element captures a characteristic of the definition according to fuzzy logic such that the definition elements collectively capture the context.

The method further includes associating a goodness factor to each point-of-interest of the set of points-of-interest based on a satellite mission requirement. An artificial intelligence searching algorithm is utilized to select a sub-set of points-of-interest from the set of points-of-interest based on a satellite resource constraint and a corresponding goodness factor associated with each point-of-interest. Finally, the method schedules the remote sensing satellite to capture at least one image for each point-of-interest of the sub-set of points-of-interest.

In some embodiments, a conversation editor may be configured to create a traversable script for an interactive synthetic character by receiving conversation rules from a user. These rules can be used to match words or phrases that a user speaks or types, or to monitor for a physical movement of the user or synthetic character. Each rule can include responses to be performed by the interactive synthetic character. Examples of responses include producing audible or textual speech for the synthetic character, performing animations, playing sound effects, retrieving data, and the like. A traversable script can be generated from the conversation rules that when executed by the synthetic character allows for the dynamic interactions. In some embodiments, the traversable script can be navigated by a state engine using navigational directives associated with the conversation rules.

In some embodiments, a traversable script for an interactive synthetic character may be modified based on a set of analytics relating to the use of the interactive synthetic character. These uses may include words spoken by the user, language spoken, user demographics, length of interactions, visually detected objects, current environmental conditions, or location. The traversable script may include a set of conversation rules that include actions to be performed by the interactive synthetic character. The actions can include, for example, producing audible or textual speech, performing one or more animations, playing one or more sound effects, retrieving data from one or more data sources, and the like. The traversable script can be modified, customized, or improved based on the feedback from the use of the character by a plurality of users. The modifications may happen automatically or be reviewed by a content creator using a graphical user interface.

An image processing module is operable to, based on the imaging data, estimate fill levels of agricultural material within the storage portion; identify an area of the storage portion as targeted to fill; and identify a first void within the targeted area. A controller in communication with the image processing module is configured to command the spout to a position to direct agricultural material to the first void.
