The world got affected by Covid-19 virus in the start of 2020 and till now, its effect has not subsided. India was specifically affected and accounted for 16.85% of the world’s cases. This pandemic hit the world in waves or phases and in India, the peak of the first wave was experienced in September while the healthcare system in India, anticipated the impending second wave. This research focuses on the determination of the safety and effectiveness profile of the ivermectin drug in the management of Covid-19. The objective of the systematic review is to determine the safety and effectiveness of ivermectin in the management of Covid-19. The effectiveness profile of ivermectin for mild, moderate and severe symptoms of Covid-19 were analysed ,with more importance given to accessing the improvement of the related blood parameters, fever, anosmia (loss of smell), aguesia (loss of taste), respiratory symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms, reduction in mortality rate and improvement in survival rate. In this systematic review, it was concluded that the administration of ivermectin to Covid-19 infected patients was and is still highly beneficial, as mortality rate was reduced, survival rate was increased, symptoms were improved and it was highly safe with only minor adverse effects recorded.
