Recent years have seen augmented rise in the incidence of melanoma worldwide. Although it is well understood that melanoma occurs due to interplay between genetic and environmental factors. Both of these factors involved genetic and molecular pathways. In this review we marked our attention towards molecular, genetic and computational basis of melanoma. In this review we attempted to explain, some pathways which are involved in melanoma. It has been seen that within last few years, lot of overwhelming amount of information about molecular genetics of melanoma had accumulated. However , still there are some significant mutation which yet not have been identified and demands high-tech techniques which includes wide genome sequencing, High-tech computational techniques like ESTs , It is anticipated that in silico studies, and novel controlled in vivo animal models will lead to successful strategies for the prevention and more effective therapy for melanoma.
