Medicinal plants have been used as traditional treatments for numerous human diseases for thousands of years and in many parts around the world. Hence, researchers have recently paid attention to safer phytomedicines and biologically active compounds isolated from plant species use. Strychnos colubrina L. Wood is used to cure fever. Root is anthelmintic, also useful in the treatment of Rheumatism, cutaneous disorders. Fruit is used to prevent Mania. The tribal people of Veligonda hills used the root part of this plant for the snake bite. Though it was reported with various pharmacological activities, this study filling the gap by exploring the morpho anatomical characters of the bark of Strychnos colubrina L for the identification of genuine variety from the adulterants.
