Innovation in quality management through research and development is one of the key factor based on which an industry can satisfy its futuristic needs and sustain its growth in this cutting edge competitive era. The techno-scientific society’s demands are encapsulated in a universal set of quality – parameters that need to be rigorously analyzed in real time field applications. In this paper such an analytical and scientific study has been taken into consideration to highlight various known & defined factors along with their consequences. The total quality management (TQM) is not only for manufacturing, but it brings benefits like improved productivity, faster product development, reduced product failure rate and increased product reliability and also positive effects in R & D and can be used for building an integrated teamwork. Various TQM tools, standards, implementation frameworks, measures, processes, philosophy and policies have been described. The authors have assumed various standard data and tried to conclude the hypothetical and predicted results and future scopes under its discussion where both the implications and criticism are discussed at length.
