One promising application of soft robotics is site-specific drug delivery, which aims to deliver drugs directly to the affected site in the body, minimizing side effects and improving treatment efficacy. This review article provides an overview of the advantages soft robots offer over traditional drug delivery methods in site-specific applications, including enhanced precision, controllability and safety. Soft robots can mimic the shape and movements of biological systems, enabling navigation through complex structures like blood vessels, tissues and organs. Moreover, they can be actuated using stimuli such as light, heat and magnetic fields, allowing them to respond to environmental cues and deliver drugs at specific locations and times. The potential of soft robotics in site-specific drug delivery opens new possibilities for personalized and minimally invasive treatments. However, further research and development are necessary to optimize the design, fabrication and control of soft robots and overcome challenges related to their deployment in complex biological environments. This review highlights the current state of the field and provides insights into future directions for advancing site-specific drug delivery using soft robotics....
