Genetic algorithm optimization technique based on principle of natural selection for reproduction and evolutionary operation such as cross over, mutation, recombination and parent selection. They mainly concern the way genetic operators exploit specific simulation information to heuristically guide the genetic evolution. In VLSI design floor planning, test pattern generation (fault finding) is most important area. This paper discusses the application of genetic algorithm in VLSI field....
Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller is most commonalty used controller in the industries. There is different way of implementing the PID controller, either using Analog hardware, or software implementation. There is one novel approach that implements the PID controller in hardware using digitally by using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). This paper discusses several method of implementing PID controller using FPGAs....
DDS Technology is used to generate signal at precise frequencies and is based on phase control. The DDS system design is realized utilizing VHDL language, and receives functional simulation in the development environment of Qurtus-II and MATLAB. Finally, using the device of Cyclone-II of ALTERA Company as a hardware design platform, the DDS system receives correlative experimental tests. The experiment result shows that the simulation and experiment are of great consistency, which proves the validity of the method....
VLSI cell placement problem is known to be NP complete. A wide repertoire of heuristic algorithms exists in the literature for efficiently arranging the logic cells on a VLSI chip. The objective of this paper is to present a comprehensive solution of the cell placement technique, with emphasis on standard cell and macro cell placement using simulated annealing using multi objective GA . The metropolis algorithm is applied to generate generations by decreasing the temperature (cooling coefficient). The state will be accepted or rejected based on energy level (cost) and finally optimum solution will be selected...
