Background: Strengths- based employment services focused on the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities challenge traditional, deficits- based orientations. Within the presence of hope, which sustains collective effort toward a preferred future, such employment services may stimulate social change. Therefore, the presence of hope was examined within strengths- based employment settings for adults with intellectual disabilities to understand its potential to establish inclusive workplaces. Methods: Employees with intellectual disabilities supported by strength- based employment services, as well as their employers and co- workers, completed semi- structured interviews. Data were analysed using thematic analysis. Results: Hope was present within strength- based employment services through the (a) co- sharing of strengths, (b) movement toward a shared, preferred future, (c) alignment of personal and collective goals, and (d) (co)transformation of interacting parties. Conclusion: Implementing strengths- based employment services for people with intellectual disabilities is supported, as it facilitates the cultivation of hope and thus movement toward inclusive and equitable workplaces....
The aviation sector faces increasing pressure to address climate change as its contribution to global CO2 emissions continues to rise. This study investigates how passengers’ awareness of environmental issues and perceptions of sustainable airline practices affect their Green Air Travel Behavior (GTB). Drawing upon the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and extending it with constructs such as Environmental Awareness (EA), Perceived Service Quality (PSQ), and Green Trust (GT), the research examines their impact on GTB. Using a quantitative design, data were collected from 300 airline passengers and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results reveal that EA strongly influences PSQ, GT, Attitude (ATT), and Intention (ITN), highlighting its role as a key antecedent. PSQ significantly enhances GT, while both GT and ATT directly predict GTB. However, the effect of ITN on GTB was not significant, indicating an intention–behavior gap. The findings underscore the importance of awareness, trust, and service quality in promoting sustainable air travel, while also pointing to barriers that hinder intentions from becoming actions. Theoretically, the study extends TPB within green aviation, and practically, it provides guidance for airlines and policymakers seeking to advance SDG 13: Climate Action through sustainable air travel strategies....
Tourism development in emerging destinations requires balancing economic benefits with ecological sustainability. In this study, we investigate the case of multi-attraction tourism planning in Qujing City, where the dual challenge lies in maximizing economic-experiential value while minimizing congestion-ecological stress. We formulate this problem as a bi-objective optimization model, integrating attraction revenues, visitor preferences, route costs, and site capacities into a unified framework. To solve the model, we employ NSGA-II enhanced with customized crossover and mutation operators specifically designed for route structures and visitor allocations. These operators enable efficient exploration of feasible solutions while maintaining capacity and time-window constraints. Extensive experiments across different scales of scenic scenarios demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms greedy and randomized baselines in terms of hypervolume and sustainability indicators. The results highlight the effectiveness of incorporating problem-specific operators into evolutionary algorithms and provide practical insights for sustainable tourism management in Qujing and other similar destinations....
As one of the most open and economically vibrant regions in my country, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is an important engine for the national regional coordinated development strategy. The sports industry, as a crucial pillar industry for cultivating new economic drivers and enhancing urban competitiveness, is not only related to the implementation of the national strategy of building a strong sports nation, but also an important path for promoting regional integration and cultural co-construction. Based on the concept of high-quality development, and combined with the institutional characteristics, industrial structure, and innovation advantages of the Guangdong- Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, this paper systematically analyzes the main bottlenecks currently restricting the high-quality development of the sports industry in the Greater Bay Area, and proposes optimization paths from five dimensions: institutional coordination, structural optimization, science and technology and talent, cultural integration, and green development, aiming to provide theoretical support and policy recommendations for the coordinated development of the sports industry in the Greater Bay Area....
Providing effective feedback on writing remains a challenge for teachers. Among the tools and strategies being explored to address this issue is generative artificial intelligence (AI), due to its potential to deliver immediate and tailored feedback that complements teacher input. However, successful implementation requires understanding the views of those likely to integrate such tools into their future teaching practice. This quasi-experimental study explores pre-service teachers’ perceptions of the inclusion of generative AI-generated feedback. A control group received teacher feedback on their writing, while an experimental group received a combination of teacher and AI-generated feedback. After the intervention, participants’ views on the feedback received and their preparedness for assessing writing were analyzed. Results reveal more positive perceptions among the experimental group, along with greater confidence in their ability to teach and assess writing. Although both groups acknowledged the need to improve their own linguistic knowledge and assessment strategies, and emphasized the importance of teacher-led feedback, participants in the experimental group also advocated for including AI tools. This highlights the need to strengthen linguistic knowledge and assessment training in teacher education, as well as the positive attitudes and openness towards generative AI among those who have experienced its potential in feedback provision....
