The fully fuzzy linear programming (FFLP) problem has many different applications in sciences and engineering, and various\nmethods have been proposed for solving this problem. Recently, some scholars presented two new methods to solve FFLP. In this\npaper, by considering the ...
An advanced fuzzy potential field method for mobile robot obstacle avoidance is proposed. The potential field method primarily\ndeals with the repulsive forces surrounding obstacles, while fuzzy control logic focuses on fuzzy rules that handle linguistic variables\nand describe the knowledge of experts. The design of a fuzzy controllerââ?¬â?advanced fuzzy potential field method (AFPFM)ââ?¬â?that\nmodels and enhances the conventional potential field method is proposed and discussed. This study also examines the rule explosion\nproblem of conventional fuzzy logic and assesses the performance of our proposed AFPFM through simulations carried\nout using a mobile robot....
Anovel variable universe fuzzy controller based on cat swarmoptimization (CSO-VUFC) is proposed to regulate the temperature of\nthe reactor system, which is characterized by nonlinearity, large time delay, and uncertainty. In CSO-VUFC, firstly, corresponding\ncontraction-expansion factors with the function form were, respectively, introduced for the input and output fuzzy universes of\nthe controller. Then, cat swarm optimization was used to optimize the relevant parameter values in the contraction-expansion\nfactor function to achieve the intelligence optimization of the contraction-expansion factors, based on the system performance test\nfunction as an evaluation index; the contradiction between the universe adjustment and control accuracy of the fuzzy controller will\nbe effectively solved to achieve the online self-adjustment of the universe. The simulation results indicate that the variable universe\nadaptive fuzzy control method based on the cat swarm optimization has the features of high precision adjustment, short transient\ntime, and hard real-time....
The applications and contributions of fuzzy set theory to human reliability analysis (HRA) are reassessed. The main contribution of\nfuzzy mathematics relies on its ability to represent vague information. Many HRA authors have made contributions developing new\nmodels, introducing fuzzy quantification methodologies. Conversely, others have drawn on fuzzy techniques or methodologies for\nquantifying already existing models. Fuzzy contributions improve HRA in five main aspects: (1) uncertainty treatment, (2) expert\njudgment data treatment, (3) fuzzy fault trees, (4) performance shaping factors, and (5) human behaviour model. Finally, recent\nfuzzy applications and new trends in fuzzy HRA are herein discussed....
To satisfy the requirements for small satellites that seek agile slewing with peak power, this paper investigates integrated power and\nattitude control using variable-speed control moment gyros (VSCMGs) that consider the mass and inertia of gimbals and wheels.\nThe paper also details the process for developing the controller by considering various environments in which the controller may be\nimplemented. A fuzzy adaptive disturbance observer (FADO) is proposed to estimate and compensate for the effects of equivalent\ndisturbances.The algorithms can simultaneously track attitude and power. The simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the\ncontrol approach, which exhibits an improvement of 80 percent compared with alternate approaches that do not employ a FADO....
In the process of composite resin prepreg tape winding, the presence of pores or voids among the layers of composite can result in\nreduced strength of winding. To alleviate this problem, it is required that the composite tape winding machines be designed such\nthat the layers of composite are evenly wound on the previous one. The paper presents a novel design of flexible winding system\nfor composite tape winding. Based on the analysis of errors in winding process, the novel winding system eliminates winding point\nerror and winding angle error based on the speed controlled flexible roller. This paper also presents the kinetic analysis of the novel\nsystem and its controller design. Experiments are conducted on the novel winding system. The experimental results illustrate that\nthe novel flexible winding system has a good performance in winding accuracy....
