The signal gaming model based on incomplete information is used to analyze the decisions of commercial banks and mediumsized\nand small enterprises (SMEs) in supply chain finance business. It is found that the returns of banks are closely relied on the\nprobability of good SMEs join which is proportional to................
Reefers are refrigerated containers commonly used for transporting perishable goods\nsuch as meat, fish, vegetables and fruit. Nowadays, reefers are responsible for 40% of\nthe total energy consumption of container terminals, when connected to the\nelectricity grid on shore. Every time when a large number of reefers is plugged-in\nafter arrival, peaks in energy consumption occur. As container terminals purchase\nenergy using a demand-based fee, exceeding the reserved capacity during peak\ntimes increases the energy costs of the terminal significantly. So far the literature has\nnot dealt with the root causes of peak energy consumption of reefers, or ways to\nreduce these peaks. The aim of this paper is to identify the root causes and to\nquantify their importance. We use data of energy consumption of reefers at a large\ncontainer terminal, over the period of 1 year. In order to identify the importance of\nfactors, we apply a sequential multiple regression analysis approach with backwards\nfeature selection. Variations in energy demand are explained for 77% by the arrival\npattern of containers, for about 5% by dwell time and for 2% by other factors, such\nas container temperature at plug-in. Promising approaches to reduce peak energy\nconsumption of reefers includes dynamic pricing, energy management and specific\npeak shaving strategies....
The supplier is considered to be attractive under green supply chain management; supplier evaluation is also confronted with a\nserious challenge. Based on this background, this paper studies green supplier evaluation and selection with weights unknown in\nhesitant fuzzy sets and presents evaluation indexes by the DEMATEL method. On the basis of the Euclidean distance, hesitancy\ndegree is used to construct the improved type signed distance. At last, the paper calculates relative closeness to rank green suppliers\nby the improved TOPSISmethod and compares the results of the traditional algorithmand SAWmethod. The result of the example\nshows that the algorithm has practicability and a dipartite degree....
Under the third-party logistics management inventory model, the system dynamics method is used to establish a nonlinear\nsupply chain system model with supply capacity limitation and nonpermissible return, which is based on unsatisfied\ndemand nonaccumulation. The theory of singular value and the Jury Test are used to derive the stable interval of the\nmodel which is simplified. The Largest Lyapunov Exponent (LLE) of the system is calculated by the Wolf reconstruction\nmethod and used to analyze the influence of different parameters of systemâ??s stability. Then, the most reasonable and\nunreasonable combination of decision parameters under different demand environment is found out. Next, this paper\ncompared and analyzed the change of inventory or transportation volume of system members under the combination of\nrational and irrational decision parameters. All of these provided guidance for decision making, which shows an important\npractical significance....
Six Sigma is used heavily in various industrial sectors, yet no noticeable applications are seen in healthcare logistics. This paper\nreveals the special case of healthcare logistics where cost reduction is not the only factor considered in project selection;\nperformance and criticality of each item in the logistics system are of high importance as well. This paper provides a proposed\nframework to apply Six Sigma in the area of healthcare logistics. It also presents a case study implementing the proposed\nframework at a Jordanian hospital. In the case study, the paper reveals how the modifications of the define phase to take into\nconsideration the criticality, cost, and performance of items make typical Six Sigma methodology very beneficial for healthcare\nlogistics. In addition, it shows how the Six Sigma project selection can be done to deal effectively with healthcare logistics issues.\nThis paper paves the road for research to elaborate on ways to use Six Sigma in the area of improving healthcare logistics....
