As peopleâ??s awareness of environmental protection increases. Therefore many\nresearchers have paid attention to how to recycle and reuse the old products\nin the hands of consumers. Trade-in as one of the effective methods of\nrecycling old products has also become the focus of researchers. In order to\nbetter understand the research progress of researchers on the old product recycling\nand trade-in, this paper has sorted out the relevant literature. After\nsorting out, it was found that researchers mostly study the recycling of old\nproducts from the choice of recycling methods, the impact of recycling of old\nproducts on pricing and multi-recycling channels. The main research method\nof this paper is to find out the shortcomings of the existing research through\nliterature combing. The purpose of this research is to provide relevant inspiration\nand suggestions for future research, but also helping to find out the\nblank points of the research for further exploration; and helping to inspire\nrecyclers to choose the optimal recycling strategy to better recycle old products,\nso as to achieve the utilization of resources....
This article investigates the relationship among foreign direct investment,\ntrade openness and economic growth in Ghana taking the period of\npost-liberalization covering 1975-2017. The Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF)\ntest for unit root, regression analysis, descriptive analysis, and Pearson correlation\nwas used to investigate the relationships. ADF test for unit root result\nshows all variables to be integrated of order one, that is they are stationary\nafter the first difference. The study extracted and used secondary data sources\nderived from the World Development Indicators (WDI) of the World Bank\nand Bank of Ghana website over the period 1975-2017. The study proxied\nforeign direct investment, inflation, and trade openness were used as an independent\nindicator while GDP growth (annual %) was the dependent indicator.\nUsing the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimator, the study revealed\nthat trade openness is the main factor affecting GDP growth (annual %) in\nGhana. Also, the study finds that foreign direct investment and Inflation had\n(-, or +) impact but were not statistically significant on GDP growth (annual\n%). Therefore, the study concludes by recommending robust measures\nto enhance trade openness in terms of encouraging exports and inflow of FDI\nthrough the creation of an enabling and friendly environment to do business\nfor output growth dynamics in Ghana....
International Capacity Cooperation China proposes a new model of international\neconomic cooperation, which is of great significance for promoting\nChinaâ??s surplus capacity transfer and industrial transformation and upgrading.\nIt is an inevitable choice for China to respond to changes in the global\nindustrial chain. This paper uses the â??geese line modelâ? theory to explore the\nopportunities and challenges of China-Africa international capacity development.\nThe study finds that the scale of China-Africa capacity cooperation\nis expanding, and Chinaâ??s foreign implementation of the â??flying geese modelâ?\ndrives the economic development of underdeveloped countries in Africa. The\nstatus quo of non-capacity cooperation: at present, the cooperation mode\nbetween other countries and Africa poses a challenge to China-Africa international\ncapacity cooperation. China-Africa industrialization cooperation\nand other cooperation have not been coordinated, and Africa is hard to bear\nthe large-scale capacity transfer in China in the short term. This is the challenge\nof capacity cooperation between China and Africa. Therefore, China-\nAfrica capacity cooperation must consolidate the foundation of sustainable\ndevelopment of China-Africa relations, and at the same time strengthen\ninfrastructure construction to help economic and trade development, and\njointly improve the development of the service industry, build Chinese business\ncards, and enhance corporate brands. Looking into the future,\nChina-Africa capacity cooperation model has two directions: first, to build\nindustrial parks, to undertake labor-intensive industry transfer; second, African countries to upgrade infrastructure through China-Africa Industrial Park....
The existing literature highlights the determinants of trade openness with disregard to the income classifications of\ncountries in examining whether the determinants differ given their income levels. This study, therefore, re-examines\nthe drivers of trade openness in Africa relying on panel data with special focus on the role of economic growth. More\nspecifically, we perform a comparative analysis of the factors influencing trade openness for low-income and lowerâ??\nmiddle-income countries using the system generalized method of moments. Our findings suggest that, while economic\ngrowth robustly enhances openness in low-income countries, in the case of lowerâ??middle-income countries,\nthe impact is not robust and largely negative suggesting that higher growth is associated with less openness. We also\nfind that, economic growth--openness nexus for the lower-income countries exhibits non-linearities and inverted\nU-shaped relationship in particular. Thus, while increases in real GDP per capita enhance openness, beyond an estimated\nthreshold point, any increases in economic growth dampen openness. We discuss key implications for policy....
Digital transformation is a topical theme in shipping research and professional\npractice, today. Our paper aims at developing a comprehensive framework of\ndigitalization technologies and their maritime business implications, grounded on\navailable evidence. In order to understand the full complexity of shipping\ndigitalization activities, we addressed technology and management aspects in a\ncoalesced framework. Our research follows a qualitative, case study approach. Five\ncases of advanced, shipping incumbentsâ?? digitalization activities were investigated.\nOur research outcome is an overarching theoretical model, which systematizes the\ntechnological components (technology typology), the prevailing management\nrationales (strategic drivers) and determinant factors (practices) of shipping\ndigitalization....
