The occurrence of a mushroom, Ganoderma applinatum was recorded in mangroves, along southeast cost of India for the first time from Pichavaram mangrove forest. The Pichavaram mangroves are situated at (latitude.11º 2º00.9 N and longitude79º 47º 11.2 E) the delta of vellar and coleroon estuarine complex in southeast cost of India. In September 2013, during the field visit basidiomycete was found in Pichavaram mangrove forest. The occurrence of a species of Mangrove Habitat Mushroom, Ganoderma applanatum attached with trunk of Avicennia marina in an estuarine environment is a new flora of Pichavaram Mangroves then the sample was labeled and packed in a sterilized polythene bag and quickly taken to the laboratory for identification. Field characters such as habit, habitat, colour and annulus were noted from the fresh material and photographs were taken in its natural habitat and based on the characters this species identified as Ganoderma applanatum....
