Putting measures in place to eliminate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly contributed to the transfer of human activities to the online environment, thereby contributing to the increase in the use of e-commerce. The main goal of our research was to identify whether the field of e-commerce is a suitable object for investors in Slovakia. We examined the customers' behavior when shopping online and the development of this behavior in the future. We determined, based on our assumptions, hypotheses that were verified by statistical methods and coefficients suitable for measuring the relationships between nominal respectively dichotomous variables, namely: chi-square and Cramer V. Linear regression was used for variables measured by the Likert scale, and subsequently, the data were also evaluated by cluster analysis. The research was carried out using the questionnaire method on 646 randomly selected respondents older than 18 years living in Slovakia. The research results showed a major increase in the use of e-commerce in Slovakia during the COVID-19 pandemic and at the same time the estimated increased use of ecommerce in the future, which confirms that e-commerce is a promising area for new investments in Slovakia....
As a result of EU legislation, in 2018, Portugal made it mandatory for invoices to be issued electronically to the Public Administration. This step accelerated the adoption of electronic invoicing in public procurement and the consequent electronic filing. For companies, it meant the elimination of costs with paper, printing, postage, storage, among others, which promotes an environmentally friendly technological upgrade and faster and more efficient processes. For Public Administration, it has meant the possibility of automatically posting incoming invoices in XML format. This avoids consuming human resources in routine tasks, speeds up processes and reduces accounting errors. The Portuguese Public Administration, by requiring electronic invoicing from suppliers, is being a driver of innovation and debureaucratization of companies. Through a case study, in a state-owned supplier company, it is intended with this paper to present and discuss the implementation process of electronic invoicing and the associated gains. As a result, it is presented how the company has adapted to electronic invoicing, to follow the market with economic and financial information, helping in decision making for the future of the company and improving digital knowledge....
The field of IT management is one of the most discussed areas. This was initiated by changes in IT development, its importance, and the view of IT. IT is no longer just a view of the technologies themselves, but also a view on their importance in business activities and IT management in the business context. The purpose of this paper is to explore conceptual frameworks used in companies in the area of information technologies. Selected conceptual frameworks are focused on covering all areas in IT from the IT governance, through IT architecture, service management and security to financial assessment, quality and process control and improvement. Results of our findings are based on the preliminary questionnaire survey. We have analyzed how the companies operating in Slovak republic use the conceptional frameworks and how is this use affected by various factors. The most important parameter that influences the adoption of the conceptual framework into the company is the number of employees. Conceptual frameworks are almost entirely unused in microenterprises. Larger companies use the frameworks more often in comparison to micro, small and also medium-sized enterprises. The most used frameworks in companies are ITIL and ISO norms (20000 and 27001). An organization that has an IS / IT department or manager has implemented more conceptual frameworks than one that does not. We also analyzed the level of management of the processes that take place in the company in relation to the perception of IT in the company and its involvement in the processes....
As the world transitions to an era of intelligent manufacturing, China has joined the race to usher in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) by transforming and upgrading conventional industries 2.0 and 3.0 to industry 4.0. As a result, many manufacturing workshops are being transformed to make room for machines rather than labour. While businesses may benefit from the conveniences of the intelligent era, they are faced with several challenges, particularly in the management of manufacturing companies. For example, with the intelligence of machines and equipment, companies must contend with the efficiency of their employees. This paper, therefore, primarily discusses current business management issues and makes management recommendations in response. At the same time, it demonstrates that in the age of digital transition and intelligent manufacturing, businesses should use innovative ideas to maximize business management efficiency....
Business Process Management is one of the most popular management concepts developed both on theoretical and practical grounds. The dynamically changing environmental conditions require flexible actions on the part of enterprises and quick, almost immediate adjustment, agility and self-organization. Opinions of practitioners and researchers indicate that process management methods and tools are often negatively evaluated due to the inability to cope with continuous and significant changes in the environment. Therefore, there is a need to increase the flexibility of process management towards Agile Business Process Management through the use of knowledge and adaptation of agile solutions in the field of project management. The literature on the subject, as well as in practice, clearly shows the relationship between process management in dynamic terms with the support of various types of technological solutions, including the increasingly widely used Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing in the technical and functional perspective is perceived as a set of various types of services, while in the business and management perspective, it can be seen as a set of possibilities and potential, which supports Agile Business Process Management. The aim of the work is to present the possibilities of supporting agile process management with solutions using technologies available in Cloud Computing and concept of Agile Business Process Management as a Service (AgileBPMaaS). AgileBPMaaS is proposed as a methodical and knowledge library and as a technical solution – meta cloud service....
