This paper scrutinizes a model of merger and acquisition declaration of different companies in United Kingdom (Home Takeover) region and also other countries (Cross-Border Takeover) during the time period of 01 January 2019 to 30 June 2022 and finally displays the consequence of 50 Home takeover companies (UK companies acquired UK companies) and 50 cross-border companies (UK companies take over foreign companies) to recognize the post effect of merger and acquisition declaration on the stock prices of the target and acquired firms. Event Study Methodology has been used for this study, like, Average Abnormal Returns (AAR) and Cumulative Average Abnormal Returns (CAAR) are used to analyze the different event windows about the stock prices of the target and acquired firms. A paired sample investigation has also been directed by associating the pre- and post-announcement returns on stock prices for the event window of ±5 days of the target and acquired firms. In the event windows, the stock price of the target firm’s all is not positive CAAR but pointedly dissimilar from zero. In the home takeover figures, all the AAR and CAAR are not significant and some negative returns after the post-declaration prove about the primary investor’s overreaction and efficient market hypothesis (EMH). There is no presence of positive implication in the cross-border pre-event return but only a positive implication returns in the home takeover pre-event return that is also significant at the 10% level....

Digital economy cooperation is an important part of the comprehensive establishment of cooperative partnership between China and ASEAN countries. In recent years, the policy and cooperation development have achieved certain results. Starting from the background of China-ASEAN digital economy and trade, this paper discusses the development status of China-ASEAN digital economy and finds that the two sides have made significant achievements in the improvement of cooperation mechanism, digital infrastructure construction, digital product manufacturing and application, cross-border e-commerce trade, personnel training and other digital economy cooperation. This paper investigates whether the production of avocado for the export trade is an income inequality decreasing source of livelihood of producers in Tanzania or not using the evidence from the Hai and Rungwe districts. Data were collected using a semi-structured questionnaire from avocado producers in the study areas. The Gini decomposition technique was employed to analyse the nature and source of income inequality amongst the avocado producers in the study areas. The results of the analysis showed that, on average 34% of the total household income was derived from production of avocados for export. The Gini decomposition analysis revealed an income inequality index of 0.748 for the pooled sample. The Gini index for avocado production was 0.537. The study also showed that avocado production for export trade was the increasing source of income inequality in the study areas with a relative concentration of 0.794 and 0.9944 in gini decomposition and coefficient of variation respectively. Gini decomposition and coefficient of variation reveal salary to be the most inequality-increasing source of income in the study areas. The production of avocados for exportation provides not only additional income but also improves the living standards of smallholder farmers, and it narrows their income gaps. We recommend the promotion and scaling up of the production of avocados as one of the key economic activities that would help tackle the problem of income inequality in rural areas suitable for the production of Hass avocadoes for export in the country....
