The present invention relates to a maca extract and uses thereof. The part of the maca extract extracted with polar solvent has anti-thrombotic activity, the part of the maca extract extracted with medium and low polarity solvents has anti-neutrophilic inflammatory and anti-allergic activities, the part of the maca extract extracted with low polarity solvent has anti-neutrophilic inflammatory activity and has pro-angiogenic activity....
A plant extraction method includes the following steps: 1) preparation of a crude plant extraction solution; 2) separation of the crude extraction solution through a cation resin and an optional anion resin to obtain a collection solution; 3) concentration of the collection solution obtained in step 2); 4) alcohol precipitation of the concentration solution obtained in step 3); and optionally, step 5) concentration and drying. The method can effectively reduce the content of heavy metals in an extract, and reduce the amount of ethanol used in extraction, thereby improving the product quality and lowering the production cost, and the efficiency and safety of industrial production are improved. The extract obtained by this method can be used to prepare drugs for lowering blood lipid, treating abnormal glucose tolerance, treating diseases related to abnormal blood glucose, or regulating intestinal flora, and can be processed into food products, health-care products or drinks....
A method for production of red ginseng hydrolysis concentrate according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes carrying out an enzyme reaction of red ginseng concentrate by adding an enzyme solution followed by addition of alcohol to prepare a mixture solution of red ginseng and alcohol, and centrifuging the prepared mixture solution of red ginseng and alcohol followed by concentration under reduced pressure of a supernatant separated by the centrifuge, and a red ginseng hydrolysis concentrate produced by the aforementioned process....
A method for purification and extraction of cannabinoids includes: providing a cannabis oil including phospholipids and cannabinoid acids; contacting the cannabis oil with a degumming solvent, wherein the degumming solvent and cannabis oil are substantially immiscible; and separating an aqueous phase including the degumming solvent and at least a portion of the phospholipids from an oil phase including the cannabis oil. The method may further include contacting the oil phase with an extraction solvent, where the extraction solvent and oil phase are substantially immiscible; and separating an aqueous phase including the extraction solvent and at least a portion of the cannabinoid acids from a second oil solvent phase including the oil phase and/or simply the liberated cannabinoids following acidification of the extraction solvent...
Disclosed is a process for removing water soluble extractives from non-woody plants of the genus Hesperaloe, wherein the extract contains at least one saponin. The process includes providing Hesperaloe biomass, milling and washing the biomass with a solvent to yield a crude extract and optionally further purifying and/or concentrating the crude extract. The saponins extracted from Hesperaloe biomass may comprise 25(27)-dehydrofucreastatin, 5(6), 25(27)-disdehydroyuccaloiside C, 5(6)-disdehydroyuccaloiside C, furcreastatin, and yuccaloiside C. An embodiment of present application provides a method of enhancing an immune response to an antigen in a non-human animal comprising administration of a saponin containing Hesperaloe extract. Another embodiment provides an administration of a Hesperaloe-derived immunomodulator containing one or more saponins for the prevention, treatment, and control of one or more conditions in non-human animals. Preferably, a Hesperaloe extract comprising one or more saponins may be administered orally to poultry for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis....
