In recent years, using of small generators connected to distribution networks has been increaseingly\r\npreferred to supply local loads. They are called embedded or distributed generators\r\nbecause of they are connected to distribution networks. Both of them are generally used\r\nsynonymously and interchangeable. In this study, dynamic performances of embedded generators\r\nare observed during and after the faults. The effects of symmetrical and unsymmetrical\r\nfaults on the operation of the industrial plant included embedded generation units and also the\r\nstability of embedded generators is investigated for a medium voltage radial distribution network.\r\nSmall-embedded generators are subjected to low frequency electromechanical oscillations that\r\ncause dynamic instability problems due to faults in utility side or inside. In this paper, these\r\noscillations caused by balanced and unbalanced faults are simulated by using SIMPOW simulation\r\nsoftware tool....
Embedded reconfigurable architectures are currently attracting increasing attention in the wireless communications\r\nindustry due to the escalating number of wireless standards in todayâs market. Application specific instruction-set\r\nprocessors (ASIPs) present a reconfigurable solution that offers a compromise between programmability and low\r\npower consumption. In this article, the design and implementation of an embedded synchronization and\r\nacquisition ASIP for OFDM based systems is proposed. The engine architecture is presented and the programming\r\nmodel is explained in details. The proposed engine is scalable and it can be configured to support a multitude of\r\nsynchronization algorithms and OFDM standards. While applicable to many OFDM systems, the proposed\r\narchitecture was successfully verified on long term evolution (LTE Rel. 8) and WiMAX 802.16e systems. A partial list\r\nof synchronization and acquisition algorithms are tested on the engine for the two standards, and the results\r\nhighlight the capabilities of the engine. The processor has been synthesized with 0.18µm standard cell CMOS\r\nlibrary. It is estimated to occupy 1.1 mm2 and the projected power consumption is 7.9mW at 120 MHz, which\r\nmeets the speed requirements of the tested standards. More results are included within the article....
This paper has proposed a power quality monitoring system on the detection of power disturbance in\r\nreal-time by using an embedded system. It can be controlled and monitored by its function via Ethernet\r\nnetwork. This system has been developed to monitor and detect any disturbance signals in power lines.\r\nIf any phase in the power lines has disturbance, the monitoring system will store the fault data into the\r\nchosen memory card. This developed system can allow users to control and receive data from the\r\nremote hardware via Ethernet network by using UDP and TCP/IP protocol. To transfer the disturbance\r\nfile that has been stored in the memory card to PC, the embedded TFTP server is applied in this step.\r\nThere are some advantages of using the developed application software: it can control the power\r\nquality monitoring hardware which being installed at the remote sites; can display the detected fault\r\ndata in the waveform; and also can connect to the various number of the monitoring hardware....
Traction control is a widely used control system to increase stability and safety of four wheel vehicles. Automatic stability control is\r\nused in theBMWK1200R motorcycle and in motoGP competition, but not in other motorcycles. This paper presents an algorithm\r\nand a low-cost real-time hardware implementation for motorcycles. A prototype has been developed, applied on a commercial\r\nmotorcycle, and tested in a real track. The control system that can be tuned by the driver during the race has been appreciated by\r\nthe test driver....
