Employees currently face an increasingly demanding environment in terms of intrapreneurial behaviour due to the key role it plays in the survival of companies and the elimination of threats in the organisational environment. This paper investigates the antecedents of intrapreneurial behaviour in the service sector in southern Spain, analysing the relationships between it and authentic leadership, as well as the mediating role of practiced creativity, autonomy and meaningful work. This study uses a quantitative approach through the distribution of a questionnaire. A total of 333 employees completed the research questionnaire. The results show that although authentic leadership has a significant negative direct effect on intrapreneurial behaviour, it positively and significantly promotes it through practiced creativity and meaningful work. In contrast to the previous two mediations, the mediation of autonomy was not significant. This research provides empirical findings that can contribute to a better understanding of intrapreneurial behaviour by highlighting the importance of balanced, authentic leadership and offering guidance to organisations in designing a work climate that enhances organisational effectiveness....
People who use drugs (PWUD) disproportionately experience health-related and social vulnerabilities, which may affect service needs and access during and after natural disasters. We conducted qualitative interviews with N = 18 PWUD recruited via a syringe services program in Houston, Texas. We assessed their health and social service needs, as well as related service access experiences, during and after natural disasters using a combined inductive–deductive approach. Participants described a range of service-related needs related to illicit drug use, poverty, neighborhood disadvantage, acute and chronic health problems, and housing insecurity. They endorsed decreased access to medical and substance-related services and difficulty accessing disaster relief aid. Interviews highlighted the importance of mutual aid for sharing harm reduction supplies and meeting practical needs. Results suggest that some PWUD experience disproportionate vulnerability after natural disasters related to multiple marginalized identities that intersect with illicit drug use....
As food safety awareness rises and living standards improve, consumers have increasingly higher expectations for the efficiency and quality of cold chain logistics services. For cold chain logistics service providers, accurately understanding consumer psychology and enhancing their willingness to continue using the service—while guiding them to actively participate in green cold chain logistics practices—are necessary means to maintain competitiveness. Therefore, based on stimulus-organism-response and cognitive-affective-conative theories, this study constructs a three-stage model to explore the factors influencing consumers’ continuous consumption of online retail cold chain delivery services. This study substantiates that consumers’ intention to continue consuming proceeds through the following three stages: cognitive, affective, and conative. Specifically, the results indicate that consumer- and environment-oriented services significantly enhance consumer value and psychological empowerment, which further promotes their intention to continue using the service and participate in green practices. Moreover, psychological empowerment and perceived value fully and partially mediate the relationship between the two types of services and consumer sustainable consumption, respectively. These findings expand the research on cold chain consumption and deepen our understanding of how various factors influence consumer behavior....
(1) Background: This work focuses on improving the efficiency of warehouse operations with the goal of promoting efficiency in the logistics industry and mitigating logistics-related labor shortages. Many factors are involved in warehouse operations, such as the optimal allocation of manpower, the optimal layout design, and the use of automatic guided vehicles, which together affect operational efficiency. (2) Methods: In this work, we developed an optimal method for operating a limited number of workers or picking robots in a specific area, coping with cases of sudden disruptions such as a change in picking order or the blockage of aisles. For this purpose, the number of pickers, the storage capacity, and other constraints such as sudden changes in picking orders during the picking process, as well as blockages in the aisles of a warehouse site, are considered. The total travel distance is minimized using Gurobi, an optimization solver. (3) Results: The picking routes were optimized in three different scenarios using the shortest route between the starting point and the picking points, resulting in up to a 31% efficiency improvement in terms of the total distance traveled. (4) Conclusions: The main contribution of this work is that it focuses on the day-to-day work situations of sudden changes in the picking order and the presence of route blocks in realworld logistics warehouse sites. It demonstrates the feasibility of responding to sudden disruptions and simultaneously optimizing picking routes in real time. This work contributes to the overall efficiency of logistics by providing a simple, yet practical, data-driven solution for the optimization of warehouse operations....
The sharing economy is beneficial for sustainable development. It effectively utilizes underused resources and reduces unnecessary production, consumption, and waste through resource sharing. This study investigates the factors that can increase consumers’ perceived sustainability of a sharing economy service and examines the impact of perceived sustainability on their intentions to continue using the service. Furthermore, the study considers the moderating effect of perceived green transparency. Internet surveys are conducted to collect responses from users of a transportation service (Uber) and an on-demand logistics service (Uber Eats). This study provides suggestions for service providers in the sharing economy to develop sustainability strategies....
