The purpose of this paper is to briefly introduce the reader to Igor Ansoff and briefly examine\r\nthe praxis of the components of Ansoff¹s Strategic Success Paradigm which when\r\nimplemented have proven empirically to increase the firmâs probability of strategic success..\r\nWe will look at efficacy of use of each of its components relative to the formulation and\r\nimplementation of strategy in a for-profit Small sized enterprise. coalesced with other\r\nmodeling techniques like Porterâs, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT),\r\nAnsoffâs strategic diagnosis with the Optimal Strategic Performance Position (OSPP) tool\r\ncan provide management with an enriched capability to evaluate the firmâs current and future\r\nperformance position providing both a descriptive plan as well as a prescriptive diagnosis....
This paper aims at developing a set of items attempting to operationalize the stakeholder orientation for\r\nhigher education institutions. Stakeholder orientation is viewed as a more relevant framework for\r\nunderstanding and managing the external pressures exerted on universities. We hence break off with\r\nthe market orientation framework which has been suggested in previous literature. The paper is based\r\non a literature review on stakeholder orientation and market orientation. Its main outcome is that we\r\nadd to the scattered literature on stakeholders in higher education, what can be seen as a departing\r\npoint for the adoption of stakeholder orientation in higher education. The originality of my contribution\r\nstands through three points: (1) while a few authors have used the market orientation framework to\r\nstudy changes in higher education, this paper relies on the stakeholder theory to show that stakeholder\r\norientation is more relevant for this sector because it encompasses the market orientation dimensions,\r\nand fits to the peculiarities of the above sector. (2) Based on an extensive literature review, the paper\r\nmakes first paces in suggesting items for the dimensions of stakeholder orientation in higher\r\neducation. (3) Going beyond competition, I find ââ?¬Å?collaborationââ?¬Â as an important dimension which was\r\nmissing in previous strategic analysis of the higher education sector....
This paper is based on a discrete-event\r\nsimulation model and reproduces the sewing department\r\nof a clothing company involved in the fashion industry. It\r\naims to quantitatively assess the effects of different\r\nproduction configurations on flow time and production\r\ncapacity.\r\nIn particular, the production phases of mens jackets are\r\nexamined. Eight configurations are evaluated, stemming\r\nfrom the combination of two parameters: batch size and\r\nnumber of machines. For each configuration, the flow\r\ntime, the production capacity and the waiting time are\r\ncomputed. A subsequent Design of Experiment (DoE)\r\nanalysis has been performed on these configurations,\r\nwith the aim of identifying significant single and\r\ncombined effects of the above parameters on the results\r\nobserved. The goal is to obtain improvements in the\r\nproduction process. The data provided by the simulation\r\nis used in order to make a critical analysis of the system\r\nproduction and leads to the formation of proposals for\r\nthe improvement of the lay-out....

The aim of this paper is to present the fashion\r\nsystem as a ââ?¬Å?clusterââ?¬Â and to evaluate the characteristics of\r\nProduct Lifecycle Management (PLM) taking into account\r\nvarious factors, in particular the different approaches to\r\ndealing with market needs. More specifically, the ââ?¬Å?readyto-\r\nwear fashionââ?¬Â and ââ?¬Å?fast fashionââ?¬Â models will be\r\npresented and compared. The paper takes the Italian\r\nfashion system as the unit of analysis and assumes that\r\nconsumer behavioural factors act in a non-predictable\r\n(i.e., random) way in the constantly changing social and\r\ncultural environment. Considering the internal\r\ncomplexity of a whole market system, a simplified system\r\ndynamics model is proposed....
This paper aims to provide readers with a\ndeep empirical analysis on the Italian footwear industry\nin order to investigate the evolution of its structure\n(trends in sales and production, number of firms and\nemployees, main markets, etc.), together with the\nidentification of the main drivers of competitiveness in\norder to explain the strategies implemented by local\nactors....
The article analyses the impact of women entrepreneur in small and Medium Enterprises on sustainable\r\nEconomic development in Sindh. The rapid absorption of women into the labor market has been influenced by\r\nseveral factors. The rapid economic growth was due largely to important growth in the SMEs business, where\r\nsubstantial and proportionally larger increase of female workers has been registered. Among all sectors of the\r\neconomy, the SMEs has recorded the highest growth rate during the last decade. The increase in the female labor\r\nforce participation in SMES business may also be attributable to improving economic incentives in employment\r\nand policies favoring the employment of women. In addition, the combined effects of increased years of\r\nschooling, access to family planning services, improved maternal and child care, leading to arise in the average\r\nage at marriage, have allowed women to take advantage of the increased employment opportunities. Survey was\r\nconducted from 500 women in SMEs business in rural Sindh by using simple random technique from four\r\ndistricts, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kandhkot/Kashmore and Larkana Districts. Structural Questionnaire was the\r\nbasic tool to find out the major challenges of rural women as an entrepreneur business. It was revealed that there\r\nis great potential of rural women is doing the various entrepreneur business like in Kandhkot, Jacobabad, Rali,\r\nAjrak and Sindhi caps they are very much unique and they were generating income from there families. It was\r\nfurther revealed that the rural women is less confident and their husbands were always given them hard time\r\nonce they are exposing them selves to out side the boundaries of the house. The biggest challenges which they\r\nwere facing they were doing all business in house, lack of marketing facilities, Karo Kari criminal activities and\r\nthey were deprived from the basic rights. This study contributes and explores the Rural Women challenges in\r\nSMEs business and how these critical unethical problems we can overcome like KARO KARI, and other various\r\nsocial issues....
