The major purpose of this article is to analyze the role of the \"Agency Theory\" in implementing effective\r\ncontrol mechanisms. In effect, various control paradigms under the following situations are elaborated:\r\na) When the agent''s control system is merely based on the output under the condition of uncertainty; b)\r\nWhen the control mechanism is based on the output, and information about agent''s action or effort; c)\r\nWhen the agent''s monitoring control is based on the output, agent''s action and additional variables. The objective of the paper is to examine the sustainability of current account in Malawi. The study\r\nemploys econometric analysis and solvency approaches to complement each other. Results from both\r\napproaches confirm that Malawis current account deficits were excessive and unsustainable during the\r\nperiod of 1980 to 2010. Results from the econometric analysis reveal that for Malawis current account\r\nto move towards a sustainable path, particular attention should be paid to the following factors:\r\nexternal debt, terms of trade, openness, real exchange rate, net foreign assets and growth.\r\nFurthermore, the current account deficit was excessively above the norm, deviating by an average of\r\n5.0% during the study period. The solvency approach to current account sustainability further confirms\r\nthat the country was running an unsustainable current account deficit. Interestingly, even after the\r\nhighly indebted poor countries (HIPC) relief, the current account was still unsustainable. In this regard,\r\npolicies should ensure that the real exchange rate is not overvalued, growth is enhanced particularly in\r\nthe export sector and also ensure that external debt is sustainable. These will ensure sustainable\r\ncurrent account....
The Portfolio Investment Framework, the Principal Agent Framework and the Principal Two Agents\r\nFramework of tax evasion, individually or collectively, are inadequate to represent fairly the dynamics\r\nof corporate income tax evasion. These behavior based frameworks are for the prediction of tax\r\nevasion and their usefulness for identifying tax evasion is limited. To bridge the gap between the\r\nprediction and the identification aspects of corporate income tax evasion, this paper presents the\r\nContextual Framework of Corporate Income Tax Evasion, structured with twelve ideas and thirty five\r\ndynamics to guide and direct future research. With a simple game theory model, the paper promotes\r\nthe tax audit cut-off policy that incorporates a reward program for the agent of government, ensures\r\naudit frequency and tests independence of the agent from governance....
