As AI systems scale, the limitations of cloud-based architectures, including latency, bandwidth, and privacy concerns, demand decentralized alternatives. Federated learning (FL) and Edge AI provide a paradigm shift by combining privacy preserving training with efficient, on device computation. This paper introduces a cutting-edge FL-edge integration framework, achieving a 10% to 15% increase in model accuracy and reducing communication costs by 25% in heterogeneous environments. Blockchain based secure aggregation ensures robust and tamper-proof model updates, while exploratory quantum AI techniques enhance computational efficiency. By addressing key challenges such as device variability and non-IID data, this work sets the stage for the next generation of adaptive, privacy-first AI systems, with applications in IoT, healthcare, and autonomous systems....
This research focuses on the contribution of Artificial Intelligence to market gardening in Burkina Faso using drones for crop monitoring, disease detection, and targeted spraying, as well as forecasting systems for optimizing irrigation and planting schedules. Artificial Intelligence is applied in several areas of life and market gardening is no exception. The objective of this study is to show that AI could have a positive impact on the production of market gardening in Burkina Faso. This study is important and new because AI is little known by many market gardening professionals. In this study, we collect primary data through market gardening professionals. We analyze and compare those who use AI and those who do not use it in the context of their work and we identify the impact of new technologies such as AI in market gardening. The comparative result shows an increase of production for those who use such technology under the same condition of production. The expected result is to demonstrate the impacts in terms of profitability in the use of AI and to encourage professionals in the field to become active in its use....
Addressing the existing gap in ethical research surrounding distinct technical characteristics of Robotic Process Automation enhanced with Artificial Intelligence (AI-RPA), this analysis examines the unique ethical dimensions by positioning AI-RPA as a distinct technological subdivision. From an analytical perspective, this study highlights key characteristics such as minimal reliance on programming, rapid development cycles, and restricted algorithmic control, which differentiate AI-RPA from traditional AI systems. These characteristics underscore the need for tailored ethical considerations, to identify ethical perils within AI-RPA’s technological origins. By positioning AI-RPA as a distinct subdivision and examining its unique characteristics alongside their emerging ethical challenges, this paper enriches the evolving discourse on AI ethics, providing valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and organizations implementing AI-RPA technologies....
Two key pillars of human-centered AI (HCAI) approaches are “control” and “autonomy”. To date, little is known about professional translators’ attitudes towards these concepts in the AI era. This paper explores this issue through a survey study of US-based professional translators in mid-2024. Methodologically, this paper presents a qualitative analysis of open-ended questions through thematic coding to identify themes related to (1) present conceptualizations of control and autonomy over translation technologies, (2) future attitudes towards control and autonomy in the AI era, (3) main threats and challenges, and (4) recommendations to developers to enhance perceptions of control and autonomy. The results show that professionals perceive control and autonomy differently in both the present and the future. The main themes are usability, the ability to turn on and off technologies or reject jobs that require specific technologies, collaboration with developers, and differences in working with LSPs versus private clients. In terms of future attitudes, the most frequent ones are post-editing, quality, communicating or informing clients, LSPs or society at large, and creativity or rates. Overall, the study helps identify how professionals conceptualize control and autonomy and what specific issues could help foster the development of truly human-centered AI in the translation profession....
Artificial intelligence in public administration is critical for the modernization of the public sector and adaptation to the challenges of modern society. The paper analyzes studies dedicated to the impact of artificial intelligence on the efficiency, innovation, and transparency of management processes in the public sector using meta- and bibliometric analysis. The goal is to identify the main areas and keywords that highlight theoretical and practical aspects of artificial intelligence in public administration. In total, 879 scientific articles were analyzed, of which 598 works are devoted to artificial intelligence. Dynamic time analysis revealed a significant surge in scientific interest in artificial intelligence in public administration: from 2010 to 2019, 135 publications were devoted to this issue, and from 2020 to 2024, 421. Bibliographic maps of keywords and publication maps showed the main thematic areas of research on artificial intelligence: the application of AI in public administration and the public sector, decision-making in public administration, data management and digital technologies in public administration, and the strategic use of AI to forecast socio-economic trends. The obtained data became the basis for expanding the scientific and practical potential of using artificial intelligence in public administration. The main areas of future research will concern the regulation of ethical issues to ensure the trust of citizens, the development of a regulatory framework and standards, increasing the efficiency of public services, the integration of artificial intelligence into strategic planning, and the use of artificial intelligence to achieve sustainable development goals....
