THE EFFECT OF NON-SCIENCE STUDENTS META-COGNITIVE AWARENESS ON THEIR PERFORMANCE IN MATHEMATICS
In this study, we examined the impact of meta-cognitive awareness of students on their performance in mathematics. One thousand six hundred and sixty (1660-967 male and 693 female) non-science students of senior secondary classes one, two and three (SS1, SS2 and SS3) from Government Secondary Schools in Bwari area council, federal capital territory Abuja, Nigeria participated in the study. Meta-co...

A MULTISTRATEGY OPTIMIZATION IMPROVED ARTIFICIAL BEE COLONY ALGORITHM
Being prone to the shortcomings of premature and slow convergence rate of artificial bee colony algorithm, an improved algorithm was proposed. Chaotic reverse learning strategies were used to initialize swarm in order to improve the global search ability of the algorithm and keep the diversity of the algorithm; the similarity degree of individuals of the population was used to characterize the ...

A COLLABORATIVE RECOMMEND ALGORITHM BASED ON BIPARTITE COMMUNITY
The recommendation algorithm based on bipartite network is superior to traditional methods on accuracy and diversity, which proves that considering the network topology of recommendation systems could help us to improve recommendation results. However, existing algorithms mainly focus on the overall topology structure and those local characteristics could also play an important role in collaborati...

A GRAMMAR-BASED SEMANTIC SIMILARITY ALGORITHM FOR NATURAL LANGUAGE SENTENCES
This paper presents a grammar and semantic corpus based similarity algorithm for natural language sentences. Natural language, in opposition to “artificial languageâ€, such as computer programming languages, is the language used by the general public for daily communication. Traditional information retrieval approaches, such as vector models, LSA, HAL, or even the ontologybased approach...

A NEW OPTICAL SURFACE MEASUREMENT METHOD WITH ITERATIVE SPARSITY-CONSTRAINED THRESHOLD PHASE RETRIEVAL ALGORITHM
Due to its low complexity and acceptable accuracy, phase retrieval technique has been proposed as an alternative to solve the classic optical surface measurement task. However, to capture the overall wave field, phase retrieval based optical surface measurement (PROSM) system has to moderate the CCD position during the multiple-sampling procedure. The mechanical modules of CCD movement may bring a...

A HYBRID ALGORITHM FOR CLUSTERING OF TIME SERIES DATA BASED ON AFFINITY SEARCH TECHNIQUE
Time series clustering is an important solution to various problems in numerous fields of research, including business, medical science, and finance. However, conventional clustering algorithms are not practical for time series data because they are essentially designed for static data. This impracticality results in poor clustering accuracy in several systems. In this paper, a new hybrid clusteri...
